Disney Junior Story Time at D23 Expo (Daynah Discoveries)

Ariel Winter
At the D23 Expo 2015 a great event for young children was the Disney Junior’s Story Time event. This is where a familiar voice from a show on Disney Junior came and read a story for the little ones. It took place on the Center Stage, which was the first thing you see when you walk through the D23 Expo doors.

Voice of Halle and Doc McStuffins

Doc Mcstuffins - A Dragon's Best Friend

Loretta Devine, the voice of Halle from Doc McStuffins, took center stage on Saturday and read “A Dragon’s Best Friend” to the children. The children sat on stage with their parents and got to meet special guest, Doc McStuffins. After storytime, they posed for photos with guests. Now that’s an experience your little one will always remember.

Doc McStuffins is an animated series about a girl named Dottie “Doc” McStuffins who decides she wants to become a doctor like her mother when she grows up. To get ready, she practices by fixing toys. When she puts on her stethoscope, toys and stuffed animals come to life and she can interact with them. Each episode is filled with lovely colors, catchy music, and a nice lesson for the young ones to learn.

You can catch Doc McStuffins on Disney Junior daily at 9am and 11:30am on weekdays and 7am on weekends.

Ariel Winter, the voice of Sofia the First, appeared on the D23 Expo stage on Saturday to read The Secret Library to the children, which will be available for purchase starting September 1, 2015. Can you just imagine your child’s happiness as they hear a new story from Sofia herself?

Sofia is an animated series about a young girl who lived in a village, but one day becomes a princess when her mother, Miranda, marries King Roland II of the kingdom Enchancia. The series is about Sofia learning what royalty is all about as she lives with her new family – her step-father, step-brother, and step-sister.

Each episode is filled with a few musical numbers, so you can catch the little ones singing all the time. My daughter just loves singing the theme song. I think she knows the words better than me! There is also a good lesson to learn in each episode too.

You can catch Sofia the First on Disney Junior daily at 10am, 10:30am, and 1:30pm on weekdays and 7:30am, 12:30pm, and 1pm on weekends.

Overview

The Disney Junior Story Time event at D23 Expo is great for children between the ages of 1 and 5. The kids are definitely familiar with all the Disney characters from the show. My almost-4-year-old daughter really enjoyed listening to the stories, especially with the voices of the characters themselves. It was one of the memorable experiences for her.

Note: These two events both started at 10am on Saturday and Sunday. If you wait in the general admission line like I did, you missed at least 15 minutes of the show. If you plan on having your child be on stage, you need to be in the show floor doors much earlier than 10am.
