For the 2015 D23 Expo Disney Visa and D23 teamed up to release 30 trading cards and guests could collect and trade them. In the official program you received a starter kit then throughout the days at various locations they were passing out cards and each day a special release was sent out via an alert on the app.

The cards featured an assortment of characters in the Disney family.. ranging from traditional Disney Animation, themeparks and TV to Star Wars and Marvel.

I thought this was a great idea and as the weekend went on it seemed to have a large following. The problem arose with the limited releases and the large mass of guests that crowded the area for them. D23 did adjust and by Sunday the lines were better managed but it was a learning experience.

An alert went out via the Official D23 Expo App about a trading card release.. it hint led you to believe it was for the Hatbox Ghost. This caused a large number of guests to head for the area.

As I waited the crowd grew heavier and the D23 Cast Members and security tried to organize the mob a bit and get them through.

For the card release on Sunday they learned from Saturday and were prepared with Cast Members to form a line. The process was much more orderly.

I managed to collect 24 of the 30 and given that I really did not focus on this or actively trade I thought this was a success. Did you participate in the quest? What did you think?
