Zootopia Preview – Tujunga Campus & Event Pictures
Disney’s next animated film, Zootopia will open in theaters in less than a month on March 4, 2016. Zootopia was produced at a temporary “home” for the animators. Walt Disney Animation Studios “home” since 1995 has been in the Roy E. Disney building on the Studio lot. This is the building with Mickey’s blue sorcerer hat at the entrance. After Big Hero 6 production wrapped up the animators moved out to allow for a major renovation of the building and they are expected to re-occupy the building later this year. So most of the production work for Zootopia was done at the Tujunga Campus. This warehouse and adjacent building has housed a variety of teams over the years including Walt Disney Imagineering. Back in October I was able to attend an event that included a tour of this campus. Below are a series of pictures Disney Released from the event.
First up the exterior. Here you can see the large warehouse on the left and then smaller building on the right that make up the Tujunga Campus.
The central area in the warehouse space became Sahara Square and was the impromptu gathering place for the animation team.
This animation arch may look familiar to those who attended the D23 Expo or other Disney events.

The lobby of the office building.
The cereal bar made the trek with the animators to their temporary home. This area also features a coffee and snack counter plus space to eat and watch TV.
