LEGO STAR WARS: Droid Tales on DVD March 1, 2016 (Daynah’s Review)

LEGO® STAR WARS: Droid TalesIt seems like the fun just started as the victory celebration the Ewok village on Endor comes to a close in Star Wars – Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Our favorite droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, gathered up the group — Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and the other Rebels, and entertained them by telling about all the adventures they went through that led up to the events of Star Wars – Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

While the droids are reminiscing, an accidental kidnapping occurs and we are suddenly taken on a journey that leads to the retelling of the entire Star Wars saga, as told by yours truly, R2-D2 and C-3PO. These Droid Tales are hilarious and amusing and will keep you laughing every second. It is packed with all of your favorite Star Wars characters and best of all, it combines the fun and playfulness of LEGO®! These intergalactic adventures are fun for the whole family.

Episodes

  1. Exit from Endor
The Star Wars characters party until the next morning in the Ewok village. I found this opening scene to be quite amusing as all the characters were brought back in LEGO®-style, especially all the stormtrooper heads used as instruments, just, just like the original movie.
  2. Crisis on Coruscant
Relive the tale of the time when Anikan Skywalker battles General Grievous – the one with four lightsabers. This is the retelling of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
  3. Mission to Mos Eisley
I thought it was funny how they worked the collectible Star Wars trading cards into this episode. The characters were introduced via their cards. In this episode, C-3PO retells the story of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
  4. Flight of the Falcon
Yes! Chewbacca is introduced in this episode and it looks like he just came back from a tropical vacation. This is the retelling of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back by C-3PO.
  5. Gambit on Geonosis
This is the retelling of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi where Han Solo is set free of his Carbonite prison and Jabba and his crew battle Luke and Leia. Jabba’s crew and the bounty hunter, Boba Fett, became victims of the gigantic sarlacc.

Free Bonus Gift

Overview

This DVD runs about 110 minutes, which is about 22 minutes per episode. Every moment was just hilarious. If you are a Star Wars fan, you definitely do not want to miss this version of the famous Saga. I watched the DVD with my family, including my 4-year-old daughter and we all loved it. There were many inside Star Wars jokes that kept us entertained, and there were other parts that were just silly because the characters are in fact made of LEGO®! I would highly recommend this DVD to any Star Wars and LEGO® fan. It cleverly hilarious and is great entertainment for the entire family.
