Disney Build It: Frozen Now Available on Mobile Devices

Disney Build It: Frozen

Do you want to build a snowman..? Or better yet, what about building your very own version of Arendelle? Now you can with Disney’s new ” Disney Build It: Frozen,” a new app for mobile devices.

In the game, players can make Frozen-themed snow globe worlds by creating and customizing buildings, such as Elsa’s Castle, Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, Arendelle towers and much more. Players are rewarded with magical snowflakes once a building is created. With the the snowflakes, players can create props like snowmen, trees and lakes when matched together.

The fabulous Frozen characters — Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Sven and Kristoff — will play along and add musical themes to the world. They will also accompany players on mini-missions, which introduce Snowgies along the way.

Some key features of Disney Build It: Frozen include:

  • Build in five locations from the film: the North Mountain, the Forest, Troll Valley, Arendelle Castle and the town of Arendelle.
  • Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Sven and Kristoff will play, dance, ride and even celebrate along with players.
  • Customize buildings with different colors, roofs, chimneys and more to unlock magical snowflakes.
  • Make snow globes special by adding lakes, mountains, rocks, trees, puddles and snowmen.
  • Go on mini-missions to build favorite Frozen characters’ palaces, castles, towers, amphitheaters and more.
  • Unlock Snowgie and Marshmallow surprises.
  • Build a collection of snow globe creations—and then shake them up to see an Arendelle snowfall.

When players are finished building their Frozen world, they can tap on the camera to take a flying tour over their creation. Players who have an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus can use 3D Touch to activate fly-through mode or Quick Actions to instantaneously jump into a specific snow globe.

Daughter’s Reaction

The moment my daughter saw the new Disney Build It: Frozen on her iPad, she smiling and saying “I’m so excited about the new app!” So that already is a good sign. I like the graphics on the app too!

My daughter is only 4 years old, so there is a learning curve with the game. She was able to figure out how to drag the buildings from the bottom menu and build Elsa’s palace. She loved watching Elsa walk around when she was done. She also told me she collected snowflakes to make a snowman.

Overview

Disney Build It: Frozen is about making a tiny snow globe world where all the buildings and characters come to life. Continue building and watch how everything interacts with one another. I enjoyed creating my little snow world and building and moving items around to how I want them laid out. It is also a lot of fun watching Elsa and Sven walk around and observe all of the new buildings. The characters also offer challenges and reward you when you build what they need.

With the purchase of the game, you are able to build the North Mountain and everything around it. To continue playing and adding more Frozen characters to the game will require an additional purchase of $1.99 per new set. I personally feel that the app is a little bit pricy for what you get. You really need to get all of the additional packs to make the most out of the app, but the cost adds up.

Overall, I think the game is a cute idea, especially if you love Frozen as well as and building and customizing things. Who would not want to build a snowman and a whole frozen world with it? The only thing I am wary about is the starting price point of the app. Other than that, the gameplay is fun and quite enjoyable.

Where to Purchase

DisneyBuildIt_Frozen_IconDisney Build It: Frozen is available for download for $3.99 on the Apple App Store, Google Play and for $4.99 on the Amazon Appstore. Additional packs with new buildings, characters and props can be purchased for $1.99.
