D23 Expo 2017 – Disney Parks and Resorts – Part 2 – Walt Disney World

On Saturday afternoon Disney Parks and Resorts was the featured presentation of the afternoon at the D23 Expo 2017.  Bob Chapek was the primary speaker and he enlisted support from several Imagineers throughout.  The presentation covered the Star Wars projects, Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary plans including Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studio additions plus transportation, resort, Vacation Club and Cruise Line news.  It closed with Disneyland.  I have a four part series of first looks featuring cell phone pictures.   Next week I will have a full picture set with the SLR pictures and video clips.

The second section of the Parks and Resorts Presentation looked at what was coming to Walt Disney World. Most are planned to be open for the 50th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom in 2021.

Starting off with the new Mickey Mouse attraction replacing the Great Movie Ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Next up Epcot

Ratatouille coming to France.

A new Circle Vision film slated for China, this one will be seemless filmed with digital cameras.

Concept art for Future World changes.

Guardians of the Galaxy taking over Universe of Energy.

A new Mission Space destination for the Green Team.

A new space based restaurant.

Tomorrowland will receive the Shanghai Tron Coaster.

A new theater on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom

Minnie Van service option.
