Super Saurus Saves Kindergarten By: Deborah Underwood – Daynah’s Review

Super Saurus Saves Kindergarten By: Deborah Underwood
Kindergarten can be scary and Arnold just did not want to go. His vivid imagination takes him into a world where evil-doers cannot crush his plans. The evil genius Zorgo, disguised as Teacher Mr. Zachary, will never stop him. Why? It is because Arnold is.. SUPER SAURUS! No kindergarten in the universe can hold him.
Or can it?

Daughter’s Reaction

My 5-year-old daughter will be entering kindergarten this fall and she can totally relate to Arnold. When asked about how she feels about going to kindergarten, she says she is a little bit excited and scared at the same time. When I read her this book, she smiled and loved how imaginative Arnold’s first day went. She hoped her first day at her new school would be just as fun and adventurous as his.

Overview

Sometimes starting a new school year can be a little bit scary. Letting your imagination run while can help fight that anxiety and make you feel more comfortable. Whether it is fighting villains or swimming around in your underwater scuba suit, Arnold has a fun way of making a scary situation into an adventure. I love that this book teaches kids how to cope with feelings of fear and turn it into a situation where they can demonstrate their bravery. This is a great book for any soon-to-be kindergartner.
