New Science and Star Wars Digital Series Premiered Today

DISNEY AND LUCASFILM INTRODUCE “SCIENCE AND STAR WARS,” A DIGITAL SERIES ON FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM

10-episode series explores intersection of science fantasy and science fact; New episodes premiere every Tuesday at Facebook.com/StarWars

GLENDALE, CA — September 19, 2017 — Today Disney Digital Network and Lucasfilm released the first episode in its digital series, “Science and Star Wars.” Developed by the Emmy-nominated Lucasfilm digital media team behind “The Star Wars Show,” “Science and Star Wars” is an episodic series that explores the relationship between real world science and the iconic technology featured in the Star Wars universe.

The series is available starting today on Facebook.com/StarWars and ancillary content will be available on the @StarWars Instagram account.

In each episode of the 10-episode series, host Anthony Carboni will discuss topics and technology with a rotating roster of researchers, scientific experts, guest stars. Every week the team will push the limits of science through experiments and demonstrations inside the “Science and Star Wars” lab.

In the premiere episode, Carboni and Star Wars Rebels voice actor Taylor Gray discuss the mythology behind lightsabers and real-world related science. Each episode will be supported with micro-content across the Disney Digital Network. New episodes will premiere every Tuesday at Facebook.com/StarWars.

The Lucasfilm digital media properties are part of the Disney Digital Network, which serves as the home for Disney stories on digital platforms. The network creates high quality digital-first stories and delivers them to Millennial and Gen Z audiences through the platforms and influencers they know best.
