Book Review: Art of Coloring: Walt Disney World
Art of Coloring: Walt Disney World –
100 Images to Inspire Creativity from the Most Magical Place on Earth
For Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary a new adult coloring book is available as part of the Art of Coloring series. This book features 100 images that span the history of the resort. Inside you will find reprints of historical coloring books dating back to the resort opening in 1971. There are also fun maps, attraction posters, and assortment of other images taken from various sources including previous anniversary logos.
The images are organized into a half dozen chapters – Nostalgia, Fantasy, Discovery, Tomorrow, Reflections and the World’s Most Magical Celebration. Each chapters has a brief introduction then a series of full page and two page spreads to color.
I am not a coloring book person and decided to not “ruin” a perfectly good book with my attempts. My artistic ability is extremely limited and coloring would not come out looking good at all for me. I did spend some time reading through and taking a look at the images that were chosen for this book. Me being the geek that I am I would have liked to have seen an appendix or something with reprints of the original pieces the coloring images were based off of.. I know this is a coloring book but I would have liked to have some information in addition to just the coloring pages.
A word of warning to parents. Keep in mind this is an adult coloring book, so a majority of the images are really detailed and have small areas, most children would be frustrated with a majority of this book.
The book is currently available only through Disney (Shop Disney) and is scheduled to be widely released on April 5, 2022 via other sellers.
