Earlier this month version 2 of the Disneyland Hidden Mickey app was released. It includes Hidden Mickeys from both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure as well as Downtown Disney and the Disney Hotels that are featured in the book: Disneyland’s Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Disneyland Resort’s Best Kept Secrets
When you enter Disneyland, do you know where the first hidden Mickey is? Have you found all of the hidden mickeys on your favorite ride?
The Disneyland Hidden Mickey app will lead you to all of these answers and more. As an annual passholder while my love of Disneyland will never fade, the thrill of something new is not always there. This app provides a scavenger hunt as a way to go through the Disneyland Resort and explore all of the hidden mickeys. It gives you difficulty ratings, clues and hints to help you find every one that is out there. The app also connects you to other users by the option to challenge your friends and looking at where you rank on the leader board. During my latest trip to Disneyland this app proved to be a delight in spotting hidden Mickeys throughout the parks.
Compared to the hidden Mickey book, which runs around $10-15, I would say that the app is the better option as it can be updated when new ones are added and you do not have to carry the book in addition to everything else. Having it on you phone is truly convenient and worth it for me.
Disneyland Hidden Mickey App:
As of Sept. 2014 the app cost is $5.99 on iTunes App Store
Note: There is no Android version of the Disneyland App yet, but there is of the Walt Disney World one. If you purchased a previous version you are entitled to upgrade for free.
