Moana Doll Packaging Transforms to a Toy

Disney’s New Doll Box Transforms Into a Toy to Encourage Kids and Parents to Make Easier Recycling Decisions

Did you know that one-third of the waste in the United States comes from packaging? On top of that, only 30% of that waste goes on to be recycled. That’s why Disney announced that it’s inspiring kids to help protect the planet with a first-of-its-kind toy package that transforms into the boat from the Disney’s newest feature film, Moana, in theaters Nov. 23.

Moana Box

Made with 70 percent recycled paper and printed with vegetable-based inks, the easy-to-open Moana package was designed without tape or glue; allowing the pieces to separate easily. In addition to making it easier than ever to recycle, the box itself can be turned into a boat inspired by Moana’s journey, providing an added element of fun for parents and kids.

  • The new ‘Classic Moana’ doll box was created with Disney’s SmartPackaging Initiative, a program dedicated to creating environmentally conscious product packaging to inspire the toy industry to make more Earth-friendly choices.
