My three-year-old daughter and I watched this together. It was her first experience with anything Lion King related and she spent most of the time asking me which characters were the “bad guys” and which were the “good guys.” Her favorite character was Fuli the cheetah; the fastest member of the Lion Guard. My daughter enjoyed opening the five Lion Guard bracelets that came with the DVD. She got a kick out of assigning them to people in our family.
I was in the 6th Grade when Lion King came out and just loved everything about the movie- the characters, songs, etc. Maybe I came in with too high of expectations, but I couldn’t really get into this show. What I did like about the DVD were the extras. There are 6 Shorts included that teach about real animals and their “Un-Bunga-lievable” qualities.
I think these episodes will be a hit for slightly older kids and those who are familiar with The Lion King or this show already. I definitely recommend watching those before jumping into this DVD!
