Mickey’s Christmas Storybook Treasury – Daynah’s Review

Mickey’s Christmas Storybook Treasury

Celebrate the spirit of the season with this collectible Mickey & Friends volume featuring four beautifully illustrated Christmas stories. Bring home the timeless appeal of Disney storytelling and experience the magic again and again!

This book book features four stories:

  • Mickey’s Christmas Carol – This classic story that we know and love with a Disney twist. All the characters are portrayed as one of the Disney characters. Mickey is Bob Cratchit, Goofy is Marley, Scrooge McDuck is Ebenezer Scoorge. This story is 100 pages long but takes about 15 minutes or so to read. That is, if you do not count all the questions your child will have about the story. My daughter had a lot of questions about this one.
  • Donald’s Christmas Tree – I remember watching a cartoon of this story when I was younger, so it was pleasant to be able to read it to my child. The story is about Donald finding the perfect Christmas tree in the woods and chops it down to bring home. Little did he know that he just cut down Chip and Dale’s home. Pluto
  • The Gift of the Magi – This is a sweet story about the gifts Minnie and Mickey got each other for Christmas.
  • Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s Christmas Wish – This story is about the three boys wanting a particular gift for Christmas and how they earned it.

Daughter’s Reaction

My 5-year-old daughter loved this book because they were stories about Christmas, her favorite holiday. She enjoyed reading along with me where possible and asked many questions about each of the pages. She also enjoyed all the beautiful illustrations on each of the pages. My 1-year-old daughter loved sitting and listening to the story while her and her sister marveled at all the pictures in the book.

Overview

Mickey’s Christmas Storybook Treasury is a very big book and each story is about 50-100 pages long. But do not get too overwhelmed when your child asks you to read one of the stories for bedtime. Although it contains a lot of pages, most of the space is dedicated to beautiful artwork and on some pages the font is very large. This is great since it keeps the children engaged in what is happening in the stories as well as try to read some of the bigger text. Every page you turn, you will see a colorful full-page artwork. In between the stories will be smaller images as well. Each story can be read in about 10 minutes or so, depending on how many questions your child has. The book also comes with a red ribbon that is used as a bookmark. My daughters enjoyed moving it around as we finished reading each page.

I think this book makes a great gift for the holidays and your child will enjoy spending time reading it with you.
