URAYASU, CHIBA—Tokyo Disney Resort® will offer special programs for the New Year’s holiday from January 1 through 5, 2018 at Tokyo Disneyland® Park and Tokyo DisneySea® Park. The main program at both Parks will be “New Year’s Greeting” where Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in kimono, along with their Disney Friends, greet Guests and celebrate the New Year. This year, to honor the Year of the Dog, the entrances to both Parks will be decked out in traditional Japanese New Year’s decorations with designs of Pluto, and New Year’s merchandise and menu items will feature Pluto designs. Guests visiting the Resort will find a festive atmosphere perfect for celebrating the start of the new year.

“New Year’s Greeting”
Location: Parade Route
Performances: 2 daily
Duration: About 35 minutes
Outline: Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in kimono will appear, along with Pluto who represents the Year of the Dog and other Disney Friends, to wish everyone a happy start to the new year. They will circle the Parade Route on floats decorated especially for the holiday.

“New Year’s Greeting”
Location: Mediterranean Harbor
Performances: 3 daily
Duration: About 15 minutes
Outline: Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, dressed in special New Year’s costumes, appear along with Pluto who represents the Year of the Dog and other Disney Friends. Riding aboard a “2018” barge on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor, they will give their New Year’s greetings to Guests.

TOKYO DISNEYLAND / TOKYO DISNEYSEA

Decorations

To celebrate the Year of the Dog, the traditional New Year’s kadomatsu decoration will feature Pluto and will frame the entrance to World Bazaar in Tokyo Disneyland. The entrance area of Passaggio MiraCosta in Tokyo DisneySea will feature banners to celebrate the new year.

Special Merchandise
Park shops will offer approximately 50 different types of New Year’s merchandise. New this year will be kimono-clad Disney Character plush badges, and Pluto-motif daruma (Japanese good luck doll). Other items include New Year’s greeting cards and stamp sets featuring Mickey and the Disney Friends dressed in kimono. Confectionery and other items designed with Japanese New Year’s decorations will also be available.
Note: Special merchandise will be available from Nov. 17, 2017.

Special Menu Items
Guests can enjoy desserts that come in souvenir cups shaped like a Japanese tea cup (750 yen) with designs featuring Mickey Mouse wearing kimono and Pluto.

DISNEY HOTELS

The Disney Ambassador® Hotel and the Tokyo Disneyland® Hotel will both offer New Year’s menus for a limited period. These special menus are a tasty way for Guests to celebrate the new year.

DISNEY RESORT LINE

The Resort Gateway Station of the Disney Resort Line will be decked out for the holidays with decorations designed with Pluto to celebrate the Year of the Dog.
