Shanghai, April 3, 2019 – Shanghai Disney Resort will host its first ever International Food & Drink Fest in Disneytown from April 12 to May 4. Featuring a wide array of fantastic flavors from a number of countries and regions from around the globe, guests of all ages will be able to indulge themselves on an assortment of flavor-filled cuisine and beverages before taking in a cooking class or enjoying the festival’s entertainment offerings throughout Shanghai Disney Resort’s Disneytown.
As spring returns with an abundance of beautiful blooming flowers, Shanghai Disney Resort invites guests to celebrate the season and enjoy a refreshing day out exploring the resort’s wide range of foodie-focused offerings. Inspired by a long heritage of Disney-themed Food & Wine Festivals worldwide, Shanghai Disney Resort’s inaugural International Food & Drink Fest will feature a fabulous array of activities and unique food and beverage offerings for the whole family to enjoy. With 13 different international food market booths to choose from, guests can stimulate their taste buds with regional cuisine from exotic regions from Hawaii to the Middle East, indulge in a romantic Italian dish, or sample succulent Seoul food from the South Korean booth. Menus from each location feature unique dishes created using fresh, healthy ingredients as well as a range of non-alcoholic beverages, beer, wine and cocktails from every corner of the globe.
Guests are also invited to ignite their passion for cooking at the daily Disney · Chef Cooking Show at Disneytown’s Lakeshore Lawn. Here, guests can watch and learn from local Disney chefs and culinary experts as they come to share their passion for creative cuisine by showcasing their culinary techniques, insider tricks, helpful tips and by teaching recipes that guests can recreate at home. With a whole range of classes and recipes being taught, the Disney · Chef Cooking Show promises to be fun for guests of all ages.
Guests looking to get hands-on and receive a masterclass from a professional chef can also take part in our fun signature Disney · Chef Studio. Here, guests can spend time learning from one of Disney’s top chefs – sharpening their culinary skills with an assortment of tips and tricks as they learn how to make some of the resort’s most popular haut cuisine, including Blue Summer Crab Salad and Lobster Risotto. Of course, kids are also invited to take part, and aspiring young chefs can learn how to combine a number of ingredients to make their very own candy apples, Disney chocolate marshmallows, and Minnie cranberry muffins. A free Chef Studio is open for fun several times a day from Monday to Friday and features classes on dessert decoration, coffee demos, wine tasting and more, while other paid tasting and cooking classes are also available at weekends, igniting guests’ passion for food. Chef Donald will also be making surprise appearances throughout both the Chef Studio and Chef Cooking Show on weekends.
Throughout the 23 day festival, an impressive assortment of talented artists and live bands will be available to entertain guests in addition to an array of live music, entertainment offerings and special activities. Guests can immerse themselves in the joy of the festival at the Open-air Show held daily on the Disneytown stage.
To help guests take home a taste of the magic, over 20 special merchandise items from the Delicious Collection will be rolled out to coincide with the start of the festival. Featuring vibrant colors, food and kitchen inspired designs, and fun Disney elements, guests can take home a selection of kitchenware, stationary, apparel and exciting Mickey-shaped snack pins all perfectly suited to foodies and Disney fans alike.
With a number of admission options available at different price ranges, a standard ticket includes admission to the festival and a complimentary beverage, while foodie guests can choose to purchase a Sip and Savor Pass that includes admission, two drinks and three food items. Those looking to ignite their passion for cooking can also purchase a Disney Chef Studio ticket that includes admission and a studio class during weekends. All options enable guests to enjoy a whole world of flavors from one of the 13 different international market booths. In addition, Annual Pass holders can also enjoy complimentary admission to the festival Monday through Friday (excluding May 1-3, 2019). Tickets for the Food & Drink Fest go on sale from April 3 via the official Shanghai Disney Resort WeChat account and through the resort’s travel trade partner Meituan Dianping.
