Throw Back Thursday: Disney California Adventure Construction – Final Stretch
Disney California Adventure will turn 20 on February 8, 2021. Hard to believe this “new” park has been around two decades already. Here is a look back at several construction picture sets I posted leading up to the parks opening in 2001.
Picture sets:
- November 3, 2000 – Disney California Adventure update from 11/3/00, just 3 months till our first look into the park during one of its AP Preview Days and a little over 3 months before its February 8th official opening.
- November 17, 2000 – Getting closer to opening, finishing touches are starting to be applied to Downtown Disney in preparation for its opening in a little over a month.
- November 24, 2000 – Downtown Disney is really taking shape with only weeks till opening.
- December 16, 2000 – My final update from 2000 looks at the nearly finished park and you can see some cast members testing out some attractions in the park, with opening a little more than a month away.
