Disney Junior Super Kitties Series Preview

Watch out world, there are four new heroes in town! SuperKitties is the story of four fierce and furry superhero kittens who are on a mission to make Kittydale a more caring and “pawesome” place.

I had the opportunity to view the screening of the first episodes of Super Kitties over the weekend and I feel you will love these adorable kittens — Ginny, Sparks, Buddy, and Bitsy. They are super skillful and have many fun superhero gadgets at their disposal to protect the city of Kittydale from various villains.

The first episode of this new series is called “The Great Yarn Caper,” where the SuperKitties had to figure out why all the yarn in Kittydale was being stolen. This is where we meet Kittydale’s first villain, Cat Burglar!

The second episode is called “Get the Boot,” where Lab Rat creates a special flower for his friend Otto. Unfortunately, this special flower got squished by a child and really upset him. So he invented a giant boot to smush all the flowers in the Kittydale Flower Festival! Oh no! How can the SuperKitties stop him?

Overview

SuperKitties is geared for children 2-7 and their families. My 6-year-old daughter enjoyed the show because it combines two things she really love — superheros and kittens! She is also very small for her age, so she thought she was mostly like Bitsy — small, but super fast!

I thought the two mini episodes were quite adorable and teach a nice lesson in the end. The four SuperKitties demonstrate teamwork and how to best work together, where as the villians end up correcting their mistakes and helping out their new friends in the end.

I see some similarities between this new series and Doc McStuffins as they both have memorable and relatable characters who learn a little bit about themselves and how they could make the world a better place. They both also spread the message of kindness, empathy, friendship, problem-solving, collaboration, and more. This is an adorable new series and I am looking forward to the season.

“SuperKitties” premieres WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 11 with a simulcast on Disney Channel and Disney Junior (10:30 a.m. EST). An initial batch of episodes will premiere the same day on on-demand platforms and Disney+.
