Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Excites Fans with a Full Year of Magical Experiences in 2023

HONG KONG, January 13, 2023 — 2023 is bound to be a memorable year at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort thanks to a festive line-up of new activities, seasonal events and the opening of World of Frozen — the all-new Frozen-themed land coming to the park in the second half of 2023. Disney fans will also be delighted by the unveiling of the park’s iconic Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse statue – Dream Makers!

The magic of 2023 will kick off with an array of Chinese New Year offerings as the Year of the Rabbit bounces into Hong Kong Disneyland Resort featuring StellaLou, Duffy’s rabbit friend who is determined to become a Broadway dancer. Then, in February, the resort will be the perfect place for loved ones to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

To kick off 2023, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort hosted a one-of-a-kind FanFest featuring a mini exhibition and guest speakers, who provided a glimpse into the non-stop activities coming up in the new year, including the highly anticipated World of Frozen and introducing the new Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse statue. More than 1,000 Disney fans, media, influencers, cast members and Magic Access members joined in the special event.

To make the event extra special, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Disney friends in all-new celebratory outfits came out to surprise fans. Super fans of Disney, Joyce Cheng and Chu Fun, were also invited to share their stories and connections with Disney.

Five Surprises Not to Miss

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has a rich line-up of immersive activities that awaits guests this year, from having both the long-awaited 10K Weekend and all-new Duffy and Friends themed play experiences in March and “StellaLou’s Wonderful Wishes Ballet” to a series of Heroic Encounters with Marvel Super Heroes in May. Additionally, the highly anticipated Frozen-themed land, World of Frozen, will open in the second half of 2023. And of course, the resort’s very first, bespoke Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse Statue – Dream Makers will also make its debut in October 2023.

A Year of Celebratory Moments

The Walt Disney Company is about to mark its 100th anniversary in 2023, giving thanks to the generations of fans and families everywhere who’ve welcomed Disney into their hearts, sparking the magic that is Disney. Guests can dive into the celebrations at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort with exciting character appearances, festive merchandise, specialty food and beverage and more.

Starting in March, Mickey and friends will dress up in their brand-new celebratory outfits. Along with some long-missed Disney friends, they’ll board the Mickey and Friends Celebration, bringing joy to guests. Keep your eyes peeled as Oswald the Lucky Rabbit will make appearances in the park for the very first time. Guests can also learn to draw Oswald in Animation Academy from January 18.

Guests won’t want to miss out on exclusive anniversary merchandise items throughout the year. First up is the Platinum Celebration Collection.

Chinese New Year Blessings from StellaLou

It’s set to be an exciting Chinese New Year with celebrations for the Year of the Rabbit hopping along from today until February 12, 2023.

StellaLou from Duffy and Friends will be featured as the star guest of the event. Come meet StellaLou in her cheerful red dress as you share warm smiles and blessings at “StellaLou’s Year of the Rabbit Special Photo Moment.” StellaLou’s inquisitive friend, LinaBell, will also be there as she debuts her Chinese New Year outfit for fans for the first time. Disney Friends are prepping for the occasion in style by wearing bright CNY-themed fashions to deliver sincere blessings to all. Of course, God of Fortune Goofy will be greeting guests too. Guests are now welcome to have close interactions with Disney Friends again as we celebrate the Year of the Rabbit together.

Guests may want to take inspiration from StellaLou in dressing up and enjoying “Duffy Fans-tasy.” To fill the year with extra good fortune, guest will also receive a newly designed StellaLou-themed lai see at the park entrance during the first four days of Lunar New Year, January 22 to 25, 2023, while supplies last.

Meanwhile, park and hotel restaurants offer various delicious New Year dishes with distinctly Disney characteristics. And don’t miss out the exclusive New Year gifts throughout the resort!

Celebrate the Romantic Season with Mickey and Friends

After the Chinese New Year celebrations, it’s time to get in the mood for Valentine’s Day from February 1 to 28. Guests can meet the iconic duo, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, along with others across the park, including Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, Belle and the Beast, Cinderella and Prince Charming and Aurora and Prince Phillip. It’s the perfect date!
