Moana Doll Packaging Transforms to a Toy
Disney’s New Doll Box Transforms Into a Toy to Encourage Kids and Parents to Make Easier Recycling Decisions
Did you know that one-third of the waste in the United States comes from packaging? On top of that, only 30% of that waste goes on to be recycled. That’s why Disney announced that it’s inspiring kids to help protect the planet with a first-of-its-kind toy package that transforms into the boat from the Disney’s newest feature film, Moana, in theaters Nov. 23.
Made with 70 percent recycled paper and printed with vegetable-based inks, the easy-to-open Moana package was designed without tape or glue; allowing the pieces to separate easily. In addition to making it easier than ever to recycle, the box itself can be turned into a boat inspired by Moana’s journey, providing an added element of fun for parents and kids.
- The new ‘Classic Moana’ doll box was created with Disney’s SmartPackaging Initiative, a program dedicated to creating environmentally conscious product packaging to inspire the toy industry to make more Earth-friendly choices.
