Welcome: A Mo Willems Guide for New Arrivals – Daynah’s Review

Welcome: A Mo Willems Guide for New Arrivals is an introductory guide book written for new readers to the world. This board book uses bold and amusing graphics along with hilarious words that is perfect for reading out loud. It offers a heartwarming message while addressing important topics like friendship, injustice, and family.

Daughters’ Reaction

I read this book to both of my girls – 10 months and 5 years old. As I read the first page, I showed my younger daughter the mirror that was on the other side and she just smiled and took great interest in herself, tapping the page several times. My older daughter enjoyed the funny story and all the images and icons in the book and she had a lot of questions about all of the icons. She loved the mirrors in the book as well because she enjoyed seeing her sister happy.

Overview

As a parent, I found this book to be absolutely hilarious. It is written in an instruction manual style for a baby. As with any good instruction manual, there are plenty of icons and explanation of things. This book will help your little one navigate through all of life’s important moments. I thoroughly enjoyed Welcome: A Mo Willems Guide for New Arrivals and would highly recommend it to new parents. This book contains 32 pages and is recommended for children 0-2, although I believe children 6 and under would enjoy it tool. Welcome: A Mo Willems Guide for New Arrivals will be available for purchase on 5-30-2017, wherever books are sold.
