WDW Pictures: Animal Kingdom Flotillas (Jan 2021)

Walt Disney World reopened in July 2020 after the COVID-19 Pandemic closure with modifications to the entertainment offerings.  Traditional entertainment, parades and character meet and greets are suspended.  In their place are cavalcades and character greetings. I have separate posts looking at the cavalcades and greetings at the Magic Kingdom as well as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, see links below. In addition to the parks some characters hit the road and were part of the Caravanning Round the World taking an RV to various Disney resorts to greet guests there. At EPCOT these experiences included characters in Future World as well as traveling around World Showcase by car.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom the characters cruised around the Discovery River on boats as part of a series of flotillas.  Here is how Disney describes them:

• Mickey and Friends Flotilla
  Ready for a brand-new adventure, Mickey and his friends set sail on the Discovery River.
• Discovery Island Drummers Flotilla
  The Discovery Island Drummers take their music to the water, performing live as they sail around the Discovery River.
• Discovery River Character Cruise
  Catch a glimpse of Characters from Disney’s Pocahontas or Disney’s The Lion King as they float along the Discovery River.
• Donald’s Dino Bash Flotilla
  Donald and his friends take Donald’s Dino Bash to the Discovery River. Keep an eye out for their party boat throughout the day.
• Goofy and Pals Set Sail
  Leaving their posts at Donald’s Dino Bash, Goofy and his Pals cruise down the Discovery River.
