Take a step into Cinderella’s life as you turn the pages of this stunning book. Each page is beautifully crafted with recreated scenes from the cherished animated film. The pop-up book contains 5 stunningly detailed pop-up spreads that show the memorable moments from the classic story in gorgeous details:

• Scene 1: Cinderella’s Home – The first scene is of Cinderella’s home where she lived with her Step-Mother and step-sisters. There are fun little tabs to pull on all over the house. At the top is a tab to open up a window to see the mice working on Cinderella’s dress. There’s a knock on the door, pull to see what happens. Other scenes include Cinderella busily scrubbing the floors and disappointed as her step-family leaves for the ball.
• Scene 2: Dress Transformation – The second scene is when the Fairy Godmother appears and Cinderella’s transformation from rags to riches. Pull on the tab in the middle of the page and see her change from her torn pink dress into the beautiful blue ballgown.
• Scene 3: Pumpkin Carriage – Off to the castle! This scene is of the pumpkin carriage where Cinderella and her entourage race to the ball. The attention to detail of this scene is amazing. Take a peek inside the carriage and you will see Cinderella anxiously and excitedly awaiting for her dreams to come true.
• Scene 4: Ballroom – The ballroom scene is one of the most memorable scenes in the film and I am glad it is showcased in this pop-up book. This page shows the Prince and Cinderella dancing in the middle of the castle. Pull on the left tab and you can see Cinderella running off as the stroke of midnight hits. On top of the castle is the King and Cinderella’s step-mother and step-sisters looking down on them.
• Scene 5: Happily Ever After – This last scene depicts the moment the palace footman placed the glass slipper on Cinderella’s foot. As you pull the tab on this massive scene, you can see the Prince and Cinderella living happily ever after as they stroll away in their wedding carriage. Love the details of the four mice dressed in palace suits in the back of the carriage.

Overview

I enjoyed experiencing this pop-up book with my 8-year-old daughter. She loved exploring all the tabs and watching the pages come to life. For a book with just 5 magical scenes, there is quite a lot of literature to read. Each scene included at least five paragraphs of storytelling that set the stage for the pop-up pages. I am always amazed of Matthew’s detailed and intricate work as he sees movement of paper in such a magical way.
