Shanghai, June 9, 2025 – Shanghai Disney Resort marks nine successful years as one of the world’s most popular destinations, where unforgettable memories are made through high-quality entertainment experiences that go above and beyond guest expectations. In celebration of its ninth anniversary and as part of the resort’s enduring commitment to bringing even more wonder and joy to this remarkable destination, the resort is unveiling a robust lineup of exciting new experiences. From enchanting upgrades to brand new offerings coming to two themed lands, Tomorrowland and Adventure Isle at Shanghai Disneyland, these carefully crafted additions will provide a variety of family fun, bringing the already exceptional guest experience to new heights.

To mark the resort’s exact birthday, on June 16, a heartwarming anniversary ceremony will be hosted in front of the Storytellers Statue*, where Tinker Bell, the magical fairy from the timeless Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic Peter Pan, will make her sparkling Shanghai debut. With a flick of her wand and a sprinkle of magic, she will make all wishes and dreams take flight. For a limited time, guests visiting the park will have the unique chance for a surprise encounter with this spirited fairy face-to-face in Fantasyland, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Pixar Adventurous Journey to bring seven beloved Pixar stories to life in one go

As Shanghai Disney Resort continues to bring new offerings for guests, an all-new immersive Pixar-themed exhibition, Pixar Adventurous Journey, is coming to Tomorrowland at Shanghai Disneyland beginning June 27, 2025. Park guests of all ages can explore the first immersive and interactive Pixar movie-themed exhibition in China, embarking on a magical journey of memorable characters and heartwarming stories that Pixar is known for, all included with park admission.

This narrative-driven walkthrough exhibition will guide guests through seven playfully designed worlds inspired by seven heartwarming stories from beloved Pixar Animation Studios’ films, including Inside Out, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Turning Red, Coco, Up and Soul – bringing iconic tales to life in one unforgettable experience. From navigating the emotional landscape with Inside Out to exploring personal passions with Soul, each film represents a symbolic stage of personal growth, inviting guests to connect with these heartfelt moments while journeying with the warmth, courage, inspiration and power that Pixar stories have provided with their family and friends.

Blending innovative Disney storytelling with fun interactive elements, Pixar Adventurous Journey creates a unique multi-sensory adventure, bringing Pixar stories to life in innovative new ways. Through character sculptures, immersive décor, dynamic lighting, atmospheric audio effects, and high-tech interactives such as motion simulation, the exhibition provides an immersive experience where every turn reveals a picture-perfect moment.

Guests’ Pixar adventures at Shanghai Disneyland will extend beyond the exhibition, offering guests of all ages opportunities to meet some of the most beloved Pixar characters, including Joy and Sadness, Red Panda Mei, Sulley, and more. Among them will be three new Pixar Pals, Carl Fredricksen, Bing Bong and Edna Mode, who made their Shanghai Disneyland debut earlier this month. In addition, refreshed Pixar-themed restaurant, Stargazer Grill-Pixar Celebration, is also inviting guests to embark on a dining journey blending flavors with playful creativity based on Pixar stories and characters.

Stitch Space Base lands in Tomorrowland with mischievous fun

More fun and excitement are coming to Tomorrowland this June. In celebration of “Experiment 626,” the Stitch Space Base, one of the layovers during Stitch’s interstellar travel, will officially land in the open area of Tomorrowland on June 26, Stitch Day. This eye-catching, immersive and photogenic area will become a vibrant Stitch-themed neighborhood showcasing fun elements of everyone’s favorite blue koala-like alien and his friends.

Every detail is designed to fully immerse guests in Stitch’s unique blend of chaos and charm. The experience will begin in a marquee area featuring a teleporter post that connects to Stitch’s spaceship, allowing his frequent visits to Tomorrowland. Guests will be able to spot Stitch climbing on the teleporter post, with his mischievous antics tracked in real-time by a dynamic temper meter.

In addition to enjoying video chats with Experiment 626 through Space Chat with Stitch and exploring themed shopping and dining experiences at Intergalactic Imports and Star Trail Snacks, beginning June 26, guests will also have the chance to meet Stitch, Lilo or Angel randomly at Galaxy Gathering. The adventure will further expand later this autumn with the opening of Galaxy Play Lab, an interactive game zone that will complete Stitch’s playful takeover of this area in Tomorrowland. Get ready for a fun adventure at Junior Explorers Camp

The excitement continues at Adventure Isle with the debut of Junior Explorers Camp, opening June 16, 2025. This complete transformation of the former Excavation Site at Camp Discovery creates an adventurous outdoor play area where young guests can train to become true explorers of Adventure Isle.

Themed as a training camp for future adventurers, Junior Explorers Camp depicts three distinct zones of different natural environments, each enriched by beloved Disney Animation stories such as the wild savanna of The Lion King, and Pixar stories like the ocean wonders of Finding Nemo and the cloud-high adventures of Up. Through a wide array of fun and exhilarating themed outdoor activities, from rope courses and climbing towers to slides and
stair challenges, young guests can unleash their energy and discover their adventurous spirit, all while engaging with Disney’s captivating storytelling.

Since its grand opening in 2016, Shanghai Disney Resort has continued to grow and expand to meet the increasing demand for family entertainment experiences in China. Following the opening of two major expansions at Shanghai Disneyland – Toy Story Land and Zootopia, the resort will see continued growth and development in the upcoming years with the exciting addition of a new Spider-Man-themed land, the ninth themed land at Shanghai Disneyland which the resort has recently broke ground on, as well as a third themed hotel.
