D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2024

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2024 will take place August 9-11, 2024 in Anaheim. The evening presentations will be at the Honda Center this time and the show floor and other presentations will remain at the Anaheim Convention center.

Some Quick Facts:

  • This is the 8th D23 Expo Style Event held in Anaheim. Previous Expos took place in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
  • Overall, D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event spans almost 1,000,000 square feet of the Anaheim Convention Center, including exhibit halls, stage venues, back-of-house operations, and queue space. This also includes the largest show floor in D23 history.
  • More than 165 presentations, panels, concerts, demonstrations, meet-and-greets, and sneak peeks will take place during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
  • Throughout the event, more than 500 performers and presenters will take to the stage during can’t-miss panels and presentations.
  • The Anaheim Convention Center(ACC) will have four venues for panels and presentations: Premiere Stage (~3,200 seats), Walt Disney Archives Stage (~1,350 seats), Backlot Stage (~720 seats), and Hyperion Stage (~400 seats).

Tips:

Each time the event unfolds slightly differently and this year the event has expanded with three evenings at the Honda Center. Here are some take away tips from the previous D23 Expos that may help you with this years if you are planning to attend this year –

  • Do NOT plan on seeing everything. There is just too much and many presentations/sessions are scheduled with overlapping times. Identify your must sees and then your tolerance level for waiting to get in. Do not expect to just show up and walk into a presentation. Most are at capacity and have queues that involve waiting. Have a backup plan for each too.
  • Bring patience and flexibility. Panels start late, run late, things happen, lines are longer than you thought, something of interest catches your eye and throws off your plans. Be prepared for the unexpected schedule wise
  • Be sure to leave time to explore the Floor. There are usually some great booths and exhibits throughout.
  • Remember to leave time to eat… Be sure to each lunch and possibly even dinner to ensure you are in good shape for events and leave plenty of time, food service is extremely slow.
  • When in line visit with your fellow disneygeeks. You all have a similar interest since you are investing your time and money to visit and wait in line and it sure helps the time go faster
